I thought it was about time I posted an update of my progress, which has been VERY slow of late. In fact non-existent. I am still working on Border Two but I hadn't done any of the stitchery for a while and was very disappointed when I picked up my work and found that all my stitchery tracings had faded to such an extent that I could no longer see them. I had used a Clover tracing pen. It has been fairly tricky to re-trace as I can no longer put the stitchery design underneath and see through because I have my cotton wadding beneath and the stitchery was already started. So, I have had to draw by eye using the remains of what was left from the original tracing as a guide. I am now using a fine pencil for my tracing, so that I do not have the same problem again.
However, once I had re-traced I was immediately inspired again and took the project on holiday with me. You can see that I have been sewing whilst on my sunbed and I also sewed on the aeroplane. I must say, stitchery makes a great travel project!
So, hopefully, now that I have revitalised my enthusiasm I will soon have the Border Two completed and move on to the next one. Yay!

2 more blocks finished
I decided not to do the extra embroidery or the applique because I think they would just get lost on my 'fabric vomit' fabrics.
After looking at Issue 5....I'm in a bit of a pickle about what to use for my background colors for the center blocks as I really don't HAVE any light colored fabrics that would work. I could try to find some - or I could do some hand-dying. thinking, thinking, thinking......
Plenty of time to figure it out as I'm just starting on the 2nd border section now.

Fussy Cutting and a touch of Woodland
I have had a busy couple of days working on Block 2 & 3. Lots of fussy cutting to get the flowers just right. Thanks Monica from Happy Zombie's your fabric is so bright and lovely. Also while I was cutting the postman delivered me a wonderful parcel of Natalie Lymer from Cinderberry Stitches new fabric line "Woodland", so of course I had to find a spot for some lovely mushroom houses.
Here is a shot two blocks hanging up.... the sun is in the wrong spot and shining through the fabric at the top.. but still you get the picture
Then here is a close up of block 2 fussy cuts
And here is a close up of block 3 fussy cuts
I am really happy with how bright and colourful it is turning out... Now off to start tracing the stitchery.
Happy Stitching

Nearly There Block 2 and 3
I have completed the shoo-fly blocks I was flying away from (and the additional 8 that I think will be used in other blocks later on,but not sure which ones –I probably missed it in the mag, somewhere)
Blocks 1, 2 and 3 lined up on the couch

Block 2 - I haven't done the little hearts yet, but they are cut out and waiting.

Block 3
Mine is being done in Sweet Broderie and so far the only differences between the pattern and mine (should be) that I chose different pairs of the fabrics to use in the Shoo Fly Blocks, the same fabrics, but different pairs.
More photos than talking today, I'm sooo tired even though it's not even 8pm here!
Will comment on all the new posts tomorrow, well done to everyone, keep it up!
I'm so tired I accidentally posted this to the Heaxagon Quilt Blog :(

Ta dah! Blocks 2 and 3 are done!
How exciting to be able to show you my blocks 2 and 3 of the Vignette BOM. The stitching has been done for a while and I needed to finish the stitching on the patchwork and then make the shoo-fly blocks. So here it is! This is the left side.
This is the right side...
and here are blocks 2 and 3 together. Oh dear! The next magazine is coming next week and I gather there are 3 blocks to finish in that issue!
Happy stitching,
Sylvia

Progress with Blocks 2 and 3
I wanted to post my progress with blocks 2 and 3 of the Vignette quilt yesterday but Blogger wasn't working! Anyway, here are some pictures of my blocks. I decided to take 3 of them as it is such a long piece of stitching. I have pieced underneath the stitching and started stitching the flowers on the patchwork.
Happy stitching,
Sylvia

Progress ...
I am excited to say that I have finished blocks 2 and 3 ... lots of stitching but very enjoyable!! I can't wait for the next magazine in June!
I am only using a few thread colours so I love the look of the Cottage Garden variegated threads, they add a bit of interest!

Also started on block 2 & 3
I made some progress with block 2 & 3. Almost all the patchwork is done. Rest me only the stitching. I like to do this very much. Perhaps a little bit less after finishing these blocks. I try to figure out how the quilt is going to look like and that means that I have to do this another tree times. Time will tell.... if I'm right or not. Still working with pleasure on the blocks.

Progressing
I have started blocks 2 and 3 and am about half way. I chose to do the stitching all in one bit rather than cut the background fabric in half. It is coming along nicely but it is a very long piece! I cut my stitching fabric wider than the final size to make it easier to stitch.
Happy stitching
